Astana. July 19. KazTAG - The government has apologized to well-known Kazakhstani journalists Seitkazy and Aset Matayev, who had been illegally convicted.
“Cancel the ruling of the Esilsky Court No. 2 and the appellate instance of the Astana City Court for lack of components of a crime and fully rehabilitate them. On behalf of the government, we apologize for the unlawful conviction,” said Supreme Court’s judge on Wednesday, announcing his acquittal.
Journalist Aset Matayev, had thanked the employees of the Prosecutor General's Office for the objective approach to the consideration of the case and asked the Supreme Court to make a fair decision.
